Hamed the nomad

OK... This was something I did a while ago... a story involving a camel and a boy racer nomad, inspired by my memories of boy racer types in Jeddah - Saudi Arabia where I spent a few family holidays in my early teens.
Hamed is a teenage Nomad with dreams of speed not shared by his camel, so he resorts to joyriding in a stolen Land-Rover.
I think I'd also just seen the 70's sci-fi film "A Boy and his Dog" (pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson and a telepathic dog roughing it in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world) and I just loved that dynamic of abnormally intelligent animal and loose cannon teenager bickering endlessly in a barren desert setting. So this is Hamed, in a bit of a teenage strop. Unusually, this was done in 2 tones of plasticine rather than my usual painted maquettes. I didn't paint it so people could see the original sculpt, and I was quite pleased with the result at the time. The eyes are beads. If he looks a little freakish, it's probably the lack of pupils in his eyes, which I put in later.
