Gargoyle head

Description

This was another costume thing I did to be worn on the head (I just have a thing for dressing up in OTT fancy dress outfits).
I'm one of the few people I know who sculpts in corrugated cardboard (there are others out there, but you don't see it that often). I slice up ordinary cardboard boxes with a scalpel or stanley knife and then edge glue them together with hot-melt gluesticks usually.
For this, I wanted to do one of the gargoyles from Notre Dame, and I almost nailed it, although the one I based it on has a much heavier brow.
I would sculpt more in this style but when it comes to selling my work, I find people just seem to add up the cost of the materials I make it from and think it should cost the same as a cardboard box and some glue, which makes me mad! Craft skills and time spent on it are never really factored in.

I'm hearing you big time about people not understanding the cost of sculpts etc.,! Agh! It's a wonderful gargoyle head  and....*looks intently at the pic* it's not how I would have sculpted it at all...by that I mean, my style is completely different! Cardboard is supreme!:headbang:
